When I try to attach a WAV file in Powerpoint 2003, if
the WAV filename is over 18 characters long, it won't
play in Powerpoint (even though Windows Media Player does
just fine with it). I want the file name to include the
first few words of the speech contained in the WAV file.

Anyone else seen this, or have any answers?

There is a limit to the total length of the path to a file which may be what
you are encountering. Shorten the filename.

Hi Tim. I'd go with Sonia's suggestion. Look at the length of the entire
drive:\path\path\filename.wav

I just created a 40-character-long wav filename (but on a relatively short
path). It works fine in PPT 2003.
