sound effect scheme

can anyone tell me how to take a song from a CD and use
it for the sound effect during the startup process. I've
tried and it gives me a error message something with the
file not being read correctly

That's a cool idea. You need to copy the song to your hard drive in .wav
format. Store the file in c:\windows\media. Now go to Control Panel > Sounds
and Audio Devices > Sounds tab and select the Start Windows sound. Then
'browse' to your song and select it.

If it takes longer than the first verse for your computer to start, post
back. It shouldn't take that long.
