I just upgraded my system on an old Gateway desktop (1999)
from Windows 98 to Windows XP. Everything works fine with
one exception, I have absolutely no sound. I have checked
all obvious problems w/ no results.

I e-mailed Gateway and here is their response:

"Charlie, upon viewing your records I see that you have
been shipped with Windows98 operation system. Please
note that for Jabil BX Motherboard
Integrated Audio Gateway does not have sound drivers for
Windows Xp.
For further technical assistance please contact
Microsoft."

I have searched the download site, but didnt find any
thing. Could someone please direct me to corrective
download drivers? thanks very much

If Gateway can't provide drivers for their stuff what makes you think
Microsoft will? You're SOL.

I did down load and install the Windows 2000 drivers and
it did the job. Many thanks
Charlie

You're welcome!

Cari

I did down load and install the Windows 2000 drivers and
