Sound Driver

We had accidently deleated our sound driver and we cannot recover it, And are not sure how to do so. but do not want to re-boot the compter
 
By saying you are unable to recover it, I assume it's not in the recycle bin
anywhere .. Did you delete it or remove using Add/remove programs?

ok - a few things you can try
find the cd that has the driver on it & reinstall
reboot the pc. Windows should pick up your sound card as new hardware &
install a driver for it. If it's a common driver Windows may have it already
do a system restore to the latest restore point before the removal
or .. search the web for the driver www.drivers.com is a good place to start

There are two ways to do that. The first way is to go to your control panel and select system. When the dialog box shows up click on Hardware on the top. then click on Add New Hardware Wizard. Let the wizard search for any hardware (your sound card) that dows not have a driver installed. Then let it install the driver. The second way is to reboot the computer. When the computer loads up it will discover that your sound card does not have a driver and will notify you that it is going to install the driver. either way your problem will be solved.

Well it could be in the Recycle Bin, try Right click and open and see if U recognise the
file.

Can also go to SYSTEM via Control Panel and find the sound card and go to Properties/Driver
and use the "Roll Back Previous Driver".

Failing that, if you reboot, Windows will "find the new hardware and try and Install a
driver that it knows will match

Failing all that go to the card (or Motherboard if it is embedded sound) manufacturers web
site and download latest XP driver from there
