Josh

there is no sound coming from my IBM desktop. each time i
load the Xp sound driver, i get an error saying "driver
not found. reboot my system." There are no hardware
conflicts in the device manager. What should i do?

Hi,

Try this way:
Go to IBM website, download and save the latest XP
compatible sound drivers for your brand and model and
save it to a specific folder (don't save it on desktop).
Go to add or remove program and remove the sound drivers
and then go to device manager and remove the sound device
(if you can still find it in device manager) then
shutdwon windows.
Re-start windows, if the found new hardware wizard
appeared, close it and you will receive a warning message
that windows cannot load the driver and the device may
not work properly; ignor the warning and go ahead.
Open the folder and doulce click the icon and let it
install the drivers for you. After the reboot, your sound
device should work properly.

Hope it helps.

Peter
