Sound dragging

Upon startup of my computer all sounds start dragging.
Eventually this problem seems to sort itself out but it
is a real pain waiting for it to do that. I have checked
all DirectX stuff and tried searching troubleshooting
with no help to be found. Anyone have an idea??? If so

It's possible this is simply due to the machine being very busy during
bootup, it's doing a lot of other things while the startup sound will play,
this can cause skipping and the like.

What specifications is your machine?
