sound doesn't work

I am confortable using Windows. My current version is Win XP on Laptop.

I was playing this old game "doom 95'" as usual only this time I had
forgotten to pluc in my power source. The result was when my battery went low
my laptop went into hibernation.
Since then sound doesn't seem to come. I tried to check all the basic
settings (which I hadn't touched before) and also restarted the computer. I
have also used the help. Everything in device manager seems normal.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions

If you have an AC adapter, USE IT when you are at home. Have you recharged
the battery? Open the below website (URL) and scroll down to: "Where Did
My Sounds Go?" and click on it.

If you put it that way. I 'USE' the adaptor, its the inferior design of HP
laptop which often causes the power supply to snap out of the laptop. Anway
thanks, for your reply pertaining to the question. It didn't solve the
problem, but I will figure it out in short while.
