sound devices

when I click on my volume ..in properties on sound devices I get a message..."windowns can't excute sndvol exe,I can't set my recording or playback in sound due to this..... where or how do I correct this problem.

If your file is corrupted do the following :

Put your XP CD in your player, stop it from starting (hold down shift) then
:

Start > Run > type MSConfig > OK > Expand File > browse the CD until you
find sndvol32.exe > expand and install it in c:\windows\system32 (over-write
the file already there if necessary). It should then work.
