Movie Maker will sometimes miss bits in the preview in order to play real
time. Also the preview is not full quality and lower frames per second. It
may be this in connection with a low end pc that is causing the problem.
If you make a small dv-avi file, by going to save movie as and following the
wizard, choosing show more choices and not choosing best for my pc, and then
play this back in WMP, it'll show if the footage is corrupt or not.
Footage can get like this if you have other apps running in the background
when you capture, so you need to turn off all apps not needed, such as
antivirus/firewall/internet/screensaver/power save mode etc etc.. also
defrag before and after capture.
Otherwise please list a few more pieces of info as to what pc/camera/how you
captured/what settings etc.
