Hi there,

Was the audio captured using 12bit or 16bit. If the former then you need
to convert the audio to 16bit. A program recommended by others for this
purpose is a free one called Audacity and it can be obtained from
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Thank you,
I did try that program, But It doesn't seem to allow me to import my video's - Which have the sound problems. Perhaps it would work for audio alone, but not audio/video?

Hi there,

Yes, its an audio only program.

I have been thinking about your problem. Try this

Start Audacity or any similar program and set it to record, you need to
set-it up so that it will record from your camera if digital or Line-in is
analogue.

Begin the playback of the video tape thereby recording the audio only

Using the program of your choice convert the format of the recorded
audio into a standard WAV file

Import this audio track into Movie Maker, drag it to the lower of the
two audio tracks in your project. You will have to use the zoom tool ( +
sign ) so that you can see the start of the video and separate audio tracks.

On the assumption that the start of your separately recorded audio has
some silence or unwanted space at the beginning you can snip off the
beginning of this track using the split tool. This in turn will give you
some slack space at the beginning of the audio track so that you can
manoeuvre it so that the peaks in the waveform correspond to those in the
audio track attached to the video clip. When you have it synchronised you
can then select the unwanted audio track and Mute it.

There may be a better way of doing this, I think this will work provided
you can isolate the audio and convert it.
