I am UK based.

Recommendations required for a sound card with optical out running under XP.

I want to record in real time to my MD player.

A lot of on-board sound "cards" have SPDIF out headers. All that is required
is a suitable connector bracket. I have one for my Gigabyte board but I
suspect others do them as well. "Live drive" add-ons for Creative SB Live or
Audigy cards have both optical inputs and outputs but they represent the
upper end of the market and thus are rather expensive.
