I have a Windows 95 machine that I like to run old Dos games on. I have
Windows XP on another machine but it doesn't always want to run some of my old
Dos games, even in compatability mode. Anyway, the sound card on my Windows
95 machine is on the fritz. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good but
inexpensive sound card that can be used for Dos games, i.e. includes real mode
Dos drivers?

Thanks

I'd hunt down an old ISA card (SB16?), it's sure to have real mode dos
drivers avalible and almost all those games like that SB card.

The SB Audigy MP3 has real mode dos drivers. You just have to dig
through the CD to find them.

Try get your hands on a second hand Sound Blaster 16, the old ISA type. That
would work good in DOS.

It might work well in DOS, but since MsDos is inherently bad,
nothing can work good into into it. The bad drives out the good,
or so I have been told. :-)

If you are looking for a old ISA type sound card I would see if you
could net an ENSONIQ Soundscape VIVO 90. In my opinion it sounded
better and had better drivers than SB 16. Creative Labs must of
thought so too as they bought out ENSONIQ sortly after this card was
put out.
