sound card problems

I installed windows 2000 professional and the volume
controll icon does not show.The cd player doesn't work and
i get a message saying there is no sound card and no
mixers.the cd player plays but no sound.please help.254-
576-2563.also the windows 95 asks for a command
intrepreter and it will not do anything either.please help

You do not have a driver installed in Windows 2000 for your sound card.
Did you buy the sound card or did it come with your computer? If it came
with the computer you should be able to go to that vendors web site and
download a driver. If you bought it you may already have a CD that has
drivers for Windows 2000.
