Hello all

Has anybody encountered this bizarre situation where upon logging into
your desktop profile, your computer's speakers/sound card begin
blaring continuous alarm rings/sirens? This problem occured a few
times last year, after which it never became an issue again. Suddenly
2 days ago, this alarm ringing issue has re-emerged, this time
reccuring with nearly every reboot.

I've checked all the .wav files within Winnt/media and none of those
sounds match the alarm I'm getting. I also verified that all the
services running upon startup are services that Windows 2000 server
requires and starts by default.

The latest virus definition files for my Norton Antivirus have also
been applied, and a full scan failed to detect any viruses.

All responses are kindly appreciated!

Darren

Maybe it could be a BIOS alarm to prevent damage if processor temperature is
too high?
Check your fans and look at the board, processor and chassis temperatures if
they are as usual or above.
You can use Motherboard Monitor (MBM 5) or other hardware monitoring
software to get it.
