Chris

I want to get a program called PCDJ FX, but I have an
Audigy sound card. In order to use this program correctly
I need to use KX project drivers. I've used these drivers
with the demo of this program and the program works
great. BUT --- these drivers won't work correctly with
any games. Is there any way - IN XP - to be able to
switch between the KX project drivers and the creative
drivers as needed???? Thanks for any help offered.

Well yes.... but I doubt you'll be thrilled about it....

The most independent, practical way would be to uninstall the KX drivers,
then install the 'game' drivers.... and vice versa.... but that seems like a
pain in the behyman.

It might be possible to copy the driver names to something generic, though,
and install those generic names as the driver. Then all you'd need to do
was copy either the KX or the 'game' file names to your generic name,
depending on whether you were gonna play a game, or use PCDJ. The computer
would never know the difference, because it would only ever be using the
neutrally named files.

The trick is, as long as you tell the computer to look for your generically
named drivers, then that's all it would care about....

The trouble is, even though you could write (or have someone write) a slick
little batch file to do this, you'd still have to do it, and do it right....
and you may not wish to. It might get rather complicated. But in theory,
it'd work great.

Hopefully somebody else will have more to say on this that is more readily
helpful....

Oh hey - I just thought of something.... Have you tried creating a new user
account named "DJ", for example (that'd have software install privileges),
and use the KX drivers for THAT account... but use your game drivers for
your 'normal' account? You would simply log in or out of the account you
wanted the DJ /game features on. It might work. It works for icons,
programs, screensavers, sounds.... so why not drivers?
I don't know... I never tried something like that... but it's worth a shot.

Good luck,
