I'll try to post as much info as I know. I bought an HP
ZE4560 and switched from Windows xp home to Windows 2000
Advanced Server. I cannot get my audio to work from
here. I am not an expert on any of this, I just have this
version so I can connect to the network at work. The HP
site says I have this:
16-bit Sound Blaster® Pro-compatible audio; internal
Altec Lansing® speakers; volume control buttons and mute
button

I ran AIDA32, and it says I have nothing under Windows
Audio, and under PCI /PnP Audio it says I have:
ALi M5451 AC-Link Controller Audio Device PCI

I have tried several drivers, both for Sound Blaster and
ALI, and none of them seem to work, but maybe I am doing
something wrong.

I tried the SoundBlaster 16 or 32 AWE32 driver and it says
the device cannot start. I cannot find drivers for this
from microsoft, hp, or ali, and hp will not support it
because I changed to Windows 2000.

If you have any additional questions, email me at
(e-mail address removed)

Thanks, James

I assume sound was ok prior to o/s change?
Have you tried removing the device in hardware, then rebooting to see if it
will reinstall successfully?
HP have other drivers on their site for win2k so at one time it must have
been an option.
