Sound and audio

I installed software called Dazzle it did not work so I uninstalled it, Then my sound and audio went out I called e-machine where I bought the unit and they said I woud have to fomat my hard drive I just think there should be a better why to fix it. I have 98XP.
help please
 
You have XP?
Do you have the recovery disks that usually come with a new computer? The sound
driver should be on your recovery disk.

Mary I did not get any recover disk
 
Try this:
1. Go to Device Manager and remove the sound card.
2. Restart XP, it should detect the sound card and install drivers.
