I could sure use that 32-bit mediarack from old Willow Pond.
My server will accept up to 5meg attachments. Thanks

Colin,
They only mention that the download is for Windows 3.1. Wouldn't
that make it the 16 bit version? Praetorian is looking for the 32 bit
version. Not only that, but the post is a year old. Going to PC
Freak's website:

http://www.pcfwebzone.vze.com/

I was only able to find any mention of Willow Pond MediaRack in the
Windows 3.1x section, and that was a download link to the version of
Mediarack for W3.1.

I think so, too. All Win 3.1 programs were 16bit, with a very small
exception of very few programs done for a Win 3.1x enhancement that
called itself Win32s (note that this one is different from Win32c, which
is meant to be another term for Win9x)

One more widely known program for Win32s (at least its first version)
was the Microsoft Windows Free Cell - which btw doesn't run with my
Knoppix 3.1 WinE.
Praetorian is looking for the 32 bit
version.

Is there any in existance? And if, was it made freeware, too? I think
Praetorian is just guessing and doesn't really know anything about the
particularities of this program.

Gabriele ... your post comes from jumping into a thread without knowing what
others have said before you came along. The regulars here know that there
was a
32-bit version of Willowpond Mediarack. No guessing about it! Further,
I know all about the capabilities of the program .. having had the program
before.
Now, if you know where it can be found .. then come back with something
useful.

I have made it available to Burnr.

Patience please.

The 32 bit version is called WillowMEDIA and is available for download
here:

http://5star.freeserve.com/Music/MultimediaPlayers/willowmedia.html

As I said earlier, it crashed my system. Maybe others will have better
luck.

This page says it is shareware, for win 95 and 98, so may be 32 bit.

No link to a homepage for a description of license - no idea whether
it is freeware - so I didn't bother - SOS will no doubt post a link
in due course

The download file is named "wm_trial.exe", and when you start to run
it (took me 30 seconds to download using my fiber-optic cable
connection), you get a window that says "Willow Pond WillowMEDIA
Evaluation Copy" I would tend to think that it's not freeware. I'm
unwilling to install it to find out, especially after reading that it
crashed donutbandit's computer. However, thanks to donutbandit for
providing the link since lots of people were curious.

Yes this is the evaluation copy, available many places and useless to all.

<<< I >>> have the freeware full version dl'd from Willowmedia's own site
before they went belly-up.

I have made the file availabe to burnr as I have said previously.
As soon as he checks his site mail he wil be able to DL it and evaluate
the apps independently............. :) :) :)

Cheers!

Attention all!

Willow Media is indeed freeware. Willow Point itself says so, right on its
now defunct website.
It specifies that the program is freeware. The WMTrial.exe version 1.01
currently mentioned for
download in earlier posts is 32-bit, and is the same 'kick-ass' ensemble
bespoken by SOS. It does NOT
come from Willow Pond! You are downloading it from some server where
somebody has it
archived. Of course, it will say SHAREWARE! Think about it a moment. When
Willow Pond
itself says you can have it free now ... I am going to believe them. There
exists a (heretofore illegal)
set of two patches to 'fix' WillowMedia. Since the program is now free, as
announced by the
company itself, I should think that the patches may be applied with clear
conscience. Enjoy!!
As this is a freeware forum, it would not kosher to say where to locate the
patches ... eh? Dig for them.

Don't bother with the patches.

Just download the freeware full lversion from burnr's page.

Cheers!

Yes I have the 3.96Mb file also - did think about upping, but don't
want to nuke my ISP webspace.

I too COULD crash it on record - some codecs it likes, others it
definitely does NOT.

It's a good example of a rack system - all up, it has one module
control, A clock with speech and file-play capability, a reasonably
well-engineered mixer, and one or more play/record decks (if you want
to do a midi to wav playthrough)

One BAD habit though, it wants to make a connection at startup - not
every time though (I had proxy selected, so I didn't get WHERE)
- http://www.willowpond.com/wmad.txt - found in the exe - I might try
a little patching/redirecting to see what it does if I can give it a
file, and if I can stop it.

Version = 1.00.058

I will second that with a thanks to you, burnr and the thread OP.
It is sad to see "good" programs fall from favour and
it will save me from hunting for my original program CD.
