SOS Help with Faxing!

Thanks for your time. I run XP and have cable modem. I
would like to know if I can send faxes e.g. with
Word "Send to fax recipient" without phone lines or
signing up for an internet phone number. I know I would
need to do this to receive faxes but what about just
sending. I have an HP officejet d145 4 in one machine but
I would like to send faxes without necessary hard line
phone connection.

Hi, Kristin ... no, you'll need an analog faxmodem to send as well as
receive.
