Sorting within an org chart

Hello,

Neither the MS Organization Chart 2.0 utility (shipping with Office 2000
and earlier) or the new integrated Organization Chart diagram feature
(built into Office 2002 and 2003) have this capability.

However, in both cases, you can rearrange the order of the nodes in your
chart by dragging and dropping them (or copy paste) within the editing
framework.

The method is slightly different depending on which tool you're using but:

1) Create an empty (temporay) node
2) Copy/Drag all nodes on "both hanging" portion to temporary node
3) Add each node (1-by-one) back under their original manager node in the
order that wish to have them appear.
4) Delete the empty (temporary) node created in step 1

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that additional features
(such as sorting) should be added to the Organization Chart feature in
Office (without have to resort to an add-in or VBA), don't forget to send
your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
