Okay - this is one others have posted about but the only
solution I saw everyone being given was the simple Right
click and Sort by Name - HAH - that would great for me IF
I had that option on my Right Click menu. Anyone know the
registry fix to bring it up or how else I can force it to
appear? I'm using V6.0.2800 and have downloaded all the
relevant updates but this issue has never yet been
resolved for me and given the large no of bookmarks I have
it's doing my head in not being able to sort them
properly. Even tried external sorts and reimporting but
that didn't work either so obviously it's going to be a
registry fix somewhere along the way I suspect?

Thanks

There are 2 ways you can do this;

1. Open IE, click on Favorites or any favorite within a folder from the menu
item (the one usually located between View and Tools). From here your
favorites list will have a drop down menu. Highlight/Select any favorite
from the list, right click and select 'sort by name". Presto!

or

2. Open the Favorites list from the Start menu. Highlight/Select any
favorite or any favorite within a folder, right click and select 'sort by
name". Presto!

Here's the registry fix - line 196, right "sort all by alphabet, start
menu and faves". I use it, works well.

Sorry Maureen - good idea but I should have perhaps
mentioned I'm using Win 2000 - not XP. However, you've
given me the notion of going and hunting through other
places to find the Win 2000 ones that are presumably out
there too. Just hope it does indeed solve the problem :-)

Start Menu and Favorites Menu Are Not Listed in Alphabetical Order

MORE INFORMATION
When you install Windows, the Start menu and the Favorites menu list folders
first and shortcuts to programs or other items last. The folders and
shortcuts are displayed in alphabetical order on each menu. When you use
Internet Explorer 4.x with Windows 98, you can rearrange folders and
shortcuts on the Start menu and on the Favorites menu. This functionality is
available only when you install the Windows Desktop Update.
