Sorting and Mail Merging

I am running MS Office 2000. I sort my Access data in alpha order and
then mail merge the data into a Word address listing. The list is in
alpha order except for any new entries that I make in the data base.
They occur at the end of the listing. When I look at the data base in
either table or form view in Access, records are in alpha order sorted
on the last name field. What am I not doing to maintain the alpha sort?

Base the mail merge on a query,and not a table. Data in a table is any old
order, and unless you use a query, you cannot assume order.

By the way, I also have a nice word merge example that allows you to merge
"one" record to a word template. You might find it useful.
