sorting alphabetically

I am writing a list of words on a document and want them in alphabetical
order... I pulled down table and clicked sort text.... it says sort by
paragraphs text... I clicked OK and it won't do it.... Says..."word cannot
sort fields in this selection....." I can not find out how to do it in
Help....Any ideas.... this should be easy.... Thanks , Jim

Although this has nothing to do with the ,NET Framework or software
development,

To make the table sort work in Word, you must put your text entries in table
cells. Put your list of words in a table and the sort will work,

Table->Insert->Table then size it to meet your needs if you just have a list
of words, designate the appropriate number of rows = number of words, and
one column. Enter each word in a cell.

trying to put a list in alphabetical
order...After all the trouble it was a simple matter of an extra space I
had to eliminate and it all works perfectly.... best. Jim
