Sorting a form

I have a form that in the properties section I have the order by set to the
order I want the form to come up with on the screen. I would like to make
this a variable sort by setting the order by in the program. When I put a
criteria statement into the open form statement I get an error Syntax error
(missing operator) in fquery expression 'Order by shootorder1,
shooternumber'. This is the same order by statement I use in the properties
of the form. Can anyone let me know what I need to do to get this to work.

I scan the Microsoft newsgroups, looking for postings that are
