Sort not working in report

I have a report that I am sorting by Last Name and then by Identification
Number. If there is someone that has the same last name it is not putting
both of them on the report. If I take the sort off and sort by
Identification number they both show up. Any ideas on what I can do so that
I can sort by Last Name?

The Last name is the same but the ID is unique that is probably why it
doesn't show up

I suspect that there's something more than "sorting" going on.

If you highlight the control that displays LastName and check its
properties, is the property set to NOT display duplicates?

Hi,
Have a look at your query - run it without the report and check your data
then.
It would be ok to have no sorting in the query but to apply the sorting by
"grouping & sorting" in the report - this takes control of the data so you
put Lastname as the first entry in the sorting then follow it with ID.
