Sort my favorites

I have lots of favorites that includes folders and links. I want them to be
sorted. I've tried the right mouse click and see the menu that says it will
sort. However, the sorting never happens.

Is there another way to get these folders and links to sort?

Are they mostly in one list or have you made sufficient folders/subfolders
to better organize them first?
(I see you say you have some folders - but do you still have dozens of links
inthe root?)

Internet Explorer what? (version)
 
Sorry! I need to tell you that I'm running Windows XP Pro with all updates
and IE7 with all updates.

Lets put it this way. When I check the properties of my links, I get 574
files, 87 folders. I have all of these in one main folders "MyLinks" that I
zip up from time to time and save on my harddrive. That way I can take my
favorites to multiple computers.

I've tried going to my folder that contains all my favorites and moved them
to my desktop. I then used Windows Explorer to view everything and sort it
all. Then when I move the folder back into the favorites, some of the links
will go back "out of order". It's strange.
