Sort in Word

I need to sort 8 columns,20 rows in assending order. I can sort column 1 OK. When I sort column 2,column 1 unsorts.
I need to sort all 8 columns at one time. How can I do this?

Block the entire table and sort (by whatever column) so your rows stay together
