If you open a "new email", then click on the "To..."
button a new window opens called "Select Names". At
upper left there is a box entitled "Type Name or Select
from List", below that you see "the list" of all your
contacts so you can select who to send your message to.
Under OL 2000 I was able to click on the column heading
that says "Name" and it would sort the contacts by first
name, click again and sort by last name, click again and
sort first name, middle initial, last name or click again
and sort first name, last name, middle initial. You
could also scroll over to the right and sort by email
address or sort by home or office phone number etc. etc.
In OL 2002 these column titles are greyed out and will
not allow you to do any sorting at all.

To what sort function are you referring? The Outlook Address Book has never
contained a sort function. Only the Windows Address Book does.
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

I just started using OL 2002 and imported .pst file from
OL 2000. The sort function that used to be available in
the "Select Name" window when I opened a "new" email and
clicked on the "To" button is no longer availble. How do
I get this back on or was this function disabled with the
2002 version?
