Sort Desktop Icons

Even though I ask the desktop to sort its icons by name, it still breaks
them into three groups and then sorts each group separately. Is there anyway
to combine all the icons into one group before sorting them by name?

The three groups are:

1. Special icons (namespace icons) such as My Computer, Recycle Bin.
2. Icons from C:\Documents and Settings\{User}\Desktop folder.
3. Icons from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop folder.

Apart from moving the icons from (2) to (3) or vice-versa, I don't think
it's possible to sort it collectively. At any case, the special icons will
stand as a separate group. Their sort order is determined by registry
settings.
