About once or twice a week, an item comes up missing from my main table. The
mangers input data in a form and then print it with a report. One came up to
me this morning and said "see, I entered this item on the 8th, here it is on
the report, and now it is gone." I checked the backup from the 12th and it
was not there then either. Help! I use 03 with BE on LAN and FE on each
user's machine. Thanks!!!

I didn't delete it.
Read your question again. How would you like us to respond to it?

What would or could cause part of a record in table data to be missing, not
get saved, not be there, when it was entered and we have a record of it being
entered and it is no longer there? Thanks!

Something a user did, or code that alters or deletes the record. Your
comments suggest a backup is performed only occasionally. If you make a
backup or the data file every day you can track it down more easily. I
generally do not allow users to delete records by the built-in means (record
selectors or the Delete button on the toolbar). I make a Delete button
available, generally only to certain users (controlled through user-level
security, but there are other ways such as computer name). Users will
insist they made no deletions or changes, but in my experience they do so
without being aware of it.

Records are saved right away. If a user prints a report they need to leave
the form, which causes the record entered via the form to be saved.
