I have a OPTi audio 16 ISA sound card Windows XP Pro will find it
however it will not install the drivers I keep getting the message


CANNOT INSTALL THIS HARDWARE

An error occurred during the installation of this device

The class installer has denied the request to install this device


If windows will find the sound card why wont it accept the drivers? and what
can I do to fix this?

The fact that it can find the card doesn't necessarily mean the card or the
software is compatible. An ISA card by its very nature is considered legacy
hardware on XP and compatibility is problematic as you've already found.

You would be better off to replace your ISA card with a PCI card.
