Sony vs SanDIsc Memory stick

SSony Computer (winXP) Sony Camera - computer reads sony memory sticks - does
not recognize SanDisc sticks - any assistance - thopughts appreciated - I am
not a wiz with computers

Any brand should be compatible if you
have a reader for a memory stick. Maybe
the SanDisk memory stick is corrupted...
it may help to reformat it in the camera
but any files on it will be lost.

Thank you very much - your answer worked for a 128 mg stick - but not a 1 gb
SanDisc PRO Duo stick. I did format it in the camera - however my computer
does not read it. Should I next check out Sony for a download?

There have been a few revisions of the Memory Stick specifications
related to maximum capacity. You may need a later revision of the
software.

I can down lode my pictures of my memory stick, but I don't now how to clear
it.

Check the documentation for your camera...
there should be an option to delete the files
or format the memory stick.

One thing you don't want to do is format the
memory stick with your computer...see the
following article:

But you *can* just select all the files and delete them using
the computer.
