My Sony DVD-RW seems fine with DVD-R discs, but not with DVD+R.
I use Nero 6 to burn to, do i need to change a setting or change the burning software?

Nope, just don't buy +R disks. ;)
 
Some DVD-RW's can only burn one type (although most recent ones can do both) - if you google the model number you might find its -R only :)
 
Seems it may only do DVD-R's:(
Oh well only got 23 DVD+R left, could make nice coasters;)
