Hi,

Does anybody have a link to where I might buy a black facia plate for
the Sony DRU-700A DVD-RW drive.
I've tried Sony, however they were'nt very helpful.

Spray-on Vinyl Dye, available at many automotive stores.
 
Might be hard to spray.. the plate's like imac's where a clear coat sits
above the white coat. It'd prolly be dull after you spray it :P

Doesn't the clear part pop off if coaxed a bit?
Even if it didn't, very, very light sanding (hazing) it
should allow entire thing to be spray-dyed... just don't
forget to cover or remove the LED lens.

LOL.

I hate doing it myself but it's getting more and more
difficult to just find a plain barely-off-white case that
doesn't look like cheap junk, to match the majority of
drives out there. Can't find many good deals on colored
drives either, even a colored floppy often costs 50-100%
more.
