Sony CRX230A CD-RW Driver problem

I'm having a problem. Ever sence I installed this new
drive my video has been messed up.

show you what I'm talking about. My desktop isn't sopose
to look like that.

I have even gotten two crash screens, when windows XP
restarted I had the error message saying windows as
recovered from a major crash or something like that. When
I click send and afterwards it brings me to this website
that says the driver was installed wrong. (Windows
installed it auto-madticly) I have talked to the people at
sony and they said they don't provide the drivers
microsoft does.

Does anyone know what this is? and how to fix it?

also the problem doesn't show up in safe mode, but does
in regular windows
