Son returned from Iraq unable to access internet using Explorer on his
laptop. How does one get a hard copy of the program? Or, can I download a
copy to a writeable CD on my home computer. Once he can get online, I will
purchase McAfee etc. to clean it up.

Thanks.

There are many free of charge alternatives for security. No need to
purchase software when free applications are available. I use AVG
Anti-Virus Free Edition, AdAware Personal SE, Spybot Search & Destroy and
Windows Defender.

What, if any, messages do you get when trying to go online and connect to
the internet?

Ken,

There must be a hidden image of the HD if the PC is from a DELL or HP or
some other reputable brands. You just need to find the restore CD to
bring the system to factory standard.
