Hi,
Anyone have experience capturing and logging the Sonic bitstream from
a MSN Messenger SIP session? Sonic is a 16kbps extension of the
G.722.1 codec.
The Sonic codec provided with MS Media Player can't seem to properly
decode the bitstream, when wrapped in an appropriate wave header (wave
format 0x0112, 16khz sampling, 16 bits per sample, 40 byte block
align, 2000 bytes per sec). Nor can the decoder from Polycom
(http://www.polycom.com/partners/0,1402,pw-1234,00.html) successfully
decode the reassembled bitstream.
I have a dozen other codecs working properly, not sure why Sonic is
such a pain. Did MS do something funky with their Sonic
implementation (a la their screwed up GSM frame size).
Any help / tips greatly appreciated.
