Sond at opening of Calendar

I have set the Outlook Calendar to open whenever I boot up my computer.
However, I have started to hear a sound (sort of a 'zip-boing') when the
program opens. I have been in to the Calendar's options and unchecked the
boxes that would permit sounds that might be wanted for the opening of the
program or for reminders. Indeed, I'm not sure why this sound is now
happening, as it didn't occur when I first set up the program.

Any suggestions as to how this 'zip-boing' sound might be turned off?
Thanks.

Is a reminder popping up somewhere or possibly an error?

Thanks Vince. Your response was very helpful as it suggested that this could
be something else altogether. I had heard the sound before (my Skype
closing). I have just upgraded that program and now see that there is a
default sound for it at start up as well (even though I don't have the whole
program start). I unchecked that sound in Skype's options menu and will see
if that was the source of the problem.
Thanks very much.
