Sometimes can't view a picture

The most recent instance was on a message board. A guy posted a picture
within the message, but all I saw was the infamous red "X" in the little
box. Based on subsequent posts in that thread, one other person couldn't see
it, but four or five others did.

Any logical explanation for this?

Thanks Don, but I still get the red "X." TIF is cleared, set to 50 MB, "show
pictures" is enabled. Don't know what else to do, but viewing that picture
is not important, it was why two of couldn't and the others could. Normally,
I see those pictures all the time.

Thanks again.

If it doesn't happen very often, I'd blame it on a server problem or some
other transient issue.

This worked for me. If you have Acrobat or Acrobat Reader go to Edit >
Preferences > General > Internet...and uncheck the box that says "allow pdf
to open in browser"
