something nasty in my shared folder

something very unpleasant is filling my Shared folder with hundreds and
hundreds and hundreds of zip files. I delete them, more arrive. Antivirus
software (Avast and Trend Housecall) have found nothing.
Any ideas?

who have you shared the folder with? maybe they are putting them there??

I haven't shared with anybody. It's a download folder in Win XP home. Plainly
a virus is the culprit, but my software isn't detecting it.

You could always contact Avast and tell them you think you have a new, still
wild virus. they may provide direct help so they can add a fix to there
signatures.
