in the past, FillCD was a very good utility that optimized filling of cds
with a huge amount of files of various sizes.
It was freeware, but now is not.

Is there something like that, or better?

The application uses ASPI to communicate.

yes, but FillCD, before *eventually* burning, calculates (this doesn't
require aspi) and moves files between folders in the HD and that's all.

I think the only need for an ASPI layer is for getting information
about the exact size of the blank cd inserted in the drive...
