Ben,
Open Internet Options, Programs tab and click "Reset Web settings". This
should fix the HTM file association automatically.
That did it. Thanks so much.
If not see Tip #7 here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/iefaq.htm#IE_Default (for
Windows XP)
I looked at this link. Item #7 is
How to set Internet Explorer as my default browser?
Is that the correct link? I don't think that was my problem.

Thanks for your response.
I don't see any file extension. Its a page I downloaded from the Web. Even
the older pages that I had downloaded before this problem cannot be read
now.
Going to the folder where I keep these pages, under Name it shows the name I
gave to the page, under Size is the size of the page, under Type, it is an
HTM File, and then there is the date it was Created/Modified.
How do I look for the extension?
TIA
Hi Ben,

Every page that I download from the Net cannot be read. The pop-up says:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Folders Options control panel."
I do urgently need to resolve this problem.
TIA
