I have a desktop and laptop. On the desktop PC, some websites/pages are
displaying in an all-bold font, which is very hard to read. The same pages
look fine on the laptop.

I've removed and reinstalled my Verdana font, no change. Nothing's selected
in Accessibility. What else can I try?

Thanks very much...

Did the desktop always do this or can you think of some time or some event
around which time this started to happen?

I have seen video card drivers do this although it seems to defy common
sense that they should - that was something I noted particularly with older
E-Machines.

You can recheck your settings under fonts, it is possible something there
got changed, mine is "Latin Based" etc, maybe something you installed could
have gone a bit astray. Your best hope for a positive cure I think is if you
can recall some event, although I realize that's not necessarily easy.

Switch on the option to Ignore font sizes and font styles specified in web
pages in the Accessibility options to force IE to use the widows fonts.
Check that you have the same font size (small to large.... View\Text Size
menu item) set on both machines and that they are using the same Desktop
themes ( same font for window text etc)

Although web pages may specifiy a Font Family for IE to use not all machines
will have the same fonts installed. On one machine the first nominated font
in the font family may be available, while on the second machine the first
nominated font is missing and so the next font in the family is selected for
the rendering.

Not specifying any font in the html or stylesheets forces IE to use the
Windows defaults or those fonts specified in the Internet Setttings, General
tab, Fonts button.
