I inherited a program called....hbgdhwwg.exe

Don't know what it does except tries to dial out through ZA, which is
set not to allow this. If I try to remove the file, it tells me I don't
have access and can't be removed.

Another is called....archive.exe

Same story with it trying to dial out.

I've tried every spyware program I have to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to do an online scan from any of these to see if any viruses
are detected on your system.
Preferably not from one that you are currently using.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/mfs/default.asp
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

In the meanwhile it might be useful if you provided more details of what is
on your computer.
Anti Virus program (version? is it up to date?)
Is the ZA updated?
Operating system Windows 9x/xp...

If the online av picks up anything post the name here. (please don't upload
the virus here even if someone asks)

If it is actually trying to dial out of your modem, then check for the file
name or something called "dial" or "dialer" in the [C:\Windows\Downloaded
Program Files] folder. If you do find something, right-click on the item
and select "Remove". You may have to do this from Windows Safe Mode.

Thanks for all your replies....

I picked up Zerospyware and it seemed to find the offenders and put them
into quarantine. The program remains active and presumably blocks the
bad ones from intruding.

Of course, SpywareGuard and Spyware Blaster and all the rest of the
monitors I have, say they also were doing this....who knows?

So far-so good....

Thanks again....
