some task did not execute

I dont quite know what to do, but somehow i feel this is a
simple task.
SOME TASK DID NOT EXECUTE AT THEIR SCHEDULED TIME BECAUSE
THE TASK SCHEDULER SERVICE WAS NOT RUNNING, YOU CAN RENEW
THE LISST OF MISSED TASKS AND ATTEMPT TO RUN THEN AAGAIN
FROM WITHIN THE SCHEDULED TASK FOLDER.

Now this might sound so simple to you XP experts, but I
have tried to do what it said but i feel that i am getting
myself in more of a mess. Can someone help me please.

Hi Kathy
You need to check that the Task Scheduler service is running.
If you can't find the shortcut to open the Services manager application or
the Administration Tools menu , the simplest way is to hide all windows on
your desktop, press F1 to open Windows general help, type "using services"
into the search text box, select "Using Services" from the Suggested Topic
list. In the right hand window you can then click on a link to open the
Services manager.
Look through the list in the Services manager window for Task Scheduler and
check its running status. Set it to start Automatically from its property
window.
