Was playing with a new Sony unit this evening that was a 20 inch wide
aspect LCD screen WITH THE PC BUILT IN! however.... it ran just XP...
although it has many of the capabilities of the other Sony Media PC's I
noticed the towers ran Media Edition of XP. Pros.. cons?

Technically there is no such thing as a "Media Edition" I believe it only
means that it has XP installed along with "Microsoft Plus Media Edition"
which is a separate program package that can be purchased if you choose to
do so. I recommend it to anybody into audio/video creation simply because of
the program included called "Photo Story" which imports pictures into a
slide show format along with audio and lets you create a .WMV

Sorry but your message included many inaccuracies.

This is wrong. XP Media Edition is a seperate product along with XP Home and
XP Pro and always comes preinstalled with specially designed PCs. It is
integrated to specific devices that are on the Media Edition PCs and allows
additional functions which cannot be performed on normal XP Home edition or
XP Pro Edition.

Furthermore your following statement is old

program included called "Photo Story" which imports pictures into a slide
show format along with audio and lets you create a .WMV

Are you aware that there is a new versionof Photo Story (version 3) that is
available *free* to all genuine XP owners and one does not need to buy the
Plus pack for it. It is also many times more useful than version 2 included
in Plus DME.
