some remote Perfmon counters not showing

Hi,
Ive got an application that monitors my system, this uses sets of
performance counters, i can access these counters from the local machine and
i can access all the standard windows counters and all but one (the one i
need of course!) set of customer counters. I have had a bit of a trawl but
not found anything that looks like this. Has anyone got any ideas

I'd get in touch with the developer to find out what you'll need to install
for remote access.

Nothing else needs to be installed that we are aware of. I am think this is
some sort of permissions problem but have not been able to find anything that
would limit access of a per counter group basis.
