Some programs freeze

My mate just installed WXP home, and applied SP1. After that, some programs started to freeze for tens of seconds. For example - ACDSee, the picture viewing tool. The problem is not in the hardware, because he has a fast PC. Just wanted to know if there is any solution for this.

Take a look in Task Manager <ctrl-alt-del> and see what processes might be
hogging PC time. STOP them (if the system allows) and see if things improve.

Also open Control Panel|FIND FAST. Delete the items. Then click
INDEX|CLOSE & STOP - unless you want to use this feature, of course. ^
