Hello all,

I've a problem with a powerpoint presentation. I can work with some
presentation files and there is no problem on my computer. But if I
copy these files on an usb-stick and open the files on another pc, it
is possible that in one or two files some pictures are corrupted. This
means that one picture is ok, but on another picture one half of the
picture is ok, but the other half is only black. I don't know why some
files will be corrupted.

I use only powerpoint 2003 on the computers.

Has someone an idea for my problem?

Thank you
Jörn

Are you copying the files form the usb stick to the new computer HD or are you trying to open the presentation from the usb stick

I try to open the files from the stick. But in my memory it is the the
same problem if I copy the files to the HD.

Hello,
After copying the files to the stick in the first place, did you use the
button on the Windows taskbar to remove the USB stick safely? Sometimes
people don't bother with that and just pull the stick out. And sometimes
that corrupts the files on the stick.

I see the button to remove the stick. Normally I use the button but
sometimes I forget it.
But another thought: copy the image files from the stick to the other PC
then open them in another program; Windows Picture and Fax viewer or whatever
you have handy. Do they appear corrupted there?

I can copy the picture from Powerpoint in an other graphic program.
But if I do I see the same corrupted picture in the program.

I think it's no problem with the graphics hardware acceleration.
Because the problem with the file is on every computer.

OK, but that's not what I suggested.
Start with the *image* files themselves, not the images that are already in PPT
and already corrupted.

If I create an new PPT with the images from the HD there is no
problem. I think something destroy some of my presentations. But I
think this is no virus.

Hello.
In that case, I'd delete the corrupted images and re-insert them from the original
image files.

It's true. My AntiVirus program say me that the ppt files are corrupt.
Now I've deleted these files and I've no more problems with ppt files.

Thank you Steve and Michael.
