Hi Group,
Widows XPpro, Pentium P4, 1 gig ram, plenty of hard disc space,
adadware, spybot and NortonAv 10 run weekly, Temp Internet files cleared
weekly. 56k dial up working at best at 33k sometimes below 28k.
Working online web sites open fine except
http://www.promod.com/odyssee/src/Home.asp?MnuOpe=10&lg=EUR&PrMo=8
This is a French women's online clothes store which swmbo (She who must be
obeyed) likes to do her shopping.
At the link above that page opens fairly reasonably, yet when you click on
one of the side links (example, tops) the following pages opens a lot
slower, compound this by using the link lower down the page
"Show page of 32"
and you can sit there waiting for quite a long time, and as this one topic
has six pages it becomes a marathon.
I would hate to think that you think I might be complaining too much for a
dial up service, yet when I view the site on the same connection using my
older computer, which has a P2, XPpro and a lot less ram the site pages flow
in no trouble at all. So I have to deduce that there is some setting on the
newer machine which is inhibiting this particular site.
So the golden question is:
Please can anyone point me in the direction of what might be causing the
problem?
David.
Thanks in advance to all those that take the time to reply.
